A man convicted of first degree murder – deliberate intent in Custer County was sentenced earlier this month.
According to court records, 38-year-old Dennis Ray Rigsby will spend the rest of his life behind bars, after a judge sentenced the man to life in prison without the possibility of parole, after a jury found Rigsby guilty of the crime in late November.
Rigsby was convicted of the crime after killing his mother in a camper at a convenience store on Interstate 40 east of Clinton on the morning of June 6, 2020. The victim had initially traveled from California to Oklahoma City to pick up the defendant who had recently been released from jail.
Court records show that Rigsby’s attorney plans to appeal the verdict.
