A Clinton man received a felony charge after allegedly attacking his father with a wooden crown molding board.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident occurred on the afternoon of May 21 when police were dispatched to a physical domestic altercation at a home in the 300 block of N. 8th Street.

When police arrived they would find a man sitting on the front porch which wounds to his hands, arms, neck, right ear and the back of his head.

When asked what had happened, the man would tell police that he had gotten into an argument with his son, 21-year-old Ronald Edward Thomas III, and said his son had picked up the board and struck him several times in the head, neck and face area.

He said during the attack, the victim attempted to use his arms to block the board which caused injuries to his arms and hands.

The affidavit stated that the injuries were so severe that the man had to be transported to a nearby hospital via an ambulance.

While police were still on the scene, Thomas would return to the home where he was arrested without incident.

Thomas was later charged with one felony count of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
