A Clinton man has been charged with first degree rape and forcible sodomy in Custer County District Court after allegedly forcibly raping a woman for three days.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 63-year-old Ralph Edward Jones was arrested December 4 for the crime after the victim was able to get away from him and go to the hospital for treatment.

There she would tell police that the defendant had a problem with an illegal substance and had recently been using it in her apartment. She said that on more than one occasion within the last three days, Jones had held her hostage for several hours at a time in her bathroom while he did drugs.

The affidavit says that immediately following using the drug, Jones would allegedly beg the victim for sex and when she refused, he would physically beat her.

The affidavit states after Jones came down from the drug, he allegedly begged the victim for sex again following another hit of his pipe but the victim refused. Jones than became aggressive and violent toward the victim until she agreed out of fear for her safety.

According to the affidavit, on one occasion the victim said that Jones pulled her clothes off and pushed her down into the bathtub where he pulled her hair violently and punched her in the stomach, legs and face. She also said he allegedly grabbed her by the neck and hair and shoved her around.

The victim said she then gave Jones a ride and dropped him off at a residence before she was able to drive herself to the hospital for help.

Jones’ first court date has been scheduled for January 4.
