The hunt for a wanted man out of Beckham County is over.

Edward James Guidry is in custody in Arkansas after Arkansas State Police made contact with him on Interstate 40 in Crawford County on Monday morning.

Crawford County is located north of Fort Smith, Arkansas and shares a border with Oklahoma.

According to authorities, Guidry was spotted near Martindale, Texas Wednesday night after fleeing a traffic stop on foot earlier in the day. It was reported that Guidry was pulled over in Hays County, Texas, north of Martindale, after the vehicle he was driving ran a red light.

It was eventually discovered that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen out of Sayre. Authorities said the vehicle had guns inside.

During the traffic stop, Guidry allegedly fled on foot through a wooded area, last seen going towards the town of Martindale, which is located south of Austin, Texas.

Authorities say Guidry has former family connections in Martindale and has a lifetime protective order issued for that family. It is believed that he was trying to make it to that area.

Guidry received a felony charge of feloniously pointing a firearm after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at a man in his truck with his 4-year-old foster son on a Beckham County road, south of Elk City back in October.
