A Thomas man is in stable condition after a semi ran over his legs.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident took place on State Highway 47, 6 miles west of Thomas in Custer County, just before 3 a.m. Friday morning when a 2013 Peterbilt Semi driven by 35-year-old James Cole of Saint Lawrence, South Dakota was eastbound on the highway and ran over 27-year-old Kole Wherritt’s legs while he was laying on the highway.
OHP says Cole came to a stop and dialed 911.
Wherritt was flown from the scene to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted with leg injuries.
OHP listed the condition of Wherritt as ability impaired due to drinking.
