Hammon Man Involved in I-40 Accident – Hospitalized

A Hammon man was hospitalized on Friday after being involved in a three vehicle accident in Caddo County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Friday afternoon, just after 4:30, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 – 3.3 miles east of Hydro, when the 2015 GMC pickup driven by 39-year-old Cody Vignal of Hammon hit a 2019 Dodge Ram and then a 2015 GMC pickup who were stopped in the roadway due to a previous collision.

The drivers of the other two vehicles, 28-year-old Joshua Fitzjarrell of Hobart and 57-year-old Davis Murdock of Shawnee were uninjured in the mishap. However, Vignal was transported to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in fair condition with head and leg injuries.

OHP lists the cause of the accident to being “inattention”.
