The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says all facilities returned to normal operations on Saturday and visitation restored on Sunday after a brief lockdown that began Friday night.

Officials said the lockdown was put in place after a fight took place at the North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre.

Officials said that the fight was ruled an “isolated incident” by ODOC in which an inmate randomly assaulted six other inmates, all of which had lacerations and stab wounds.

The Department of Corrections said correctional officers responded and were able to stop the attacks and restrain the assaulting inmate. The six inmates attacked were transported offsite for medical care.

Two inmates were taken by ambulance and four were air lifted to local hospitals. All inmates are expected to recover.

As of press time, North Fork Correctional Center remains on lockdown.
