COVID-19 numbers continue to hold steady across western Oklahoma.

However one county in the region saw a slight increase of cases when compared to a week ago.

According to the latest figures from the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Custer County – which had 3 active cases last week – now has 6 active cases of the virus, 4 of those cases are in the City of Clinton, with one in Butler and the other in Weatherford.

Other surrounding counties seem to be faring pretty well with Washita County reporting one active case, Roger Mills reporting one, and Beckham County reporting no active cases of COVID-19. This is the third week in a row that Beckham County has been reported as being without a case of the virus.

Neighboring Greer County, a once hot-bed for the virus is also reporting no active cases.

Statewide, officials say there are currently 1,003 active cases – another drop of cases when compared to last week, and 129 hospitalizations throughout the state. Region 1 – which consists of much of western and northwest Oklahoma, is showing just one hospitalization due to the virus, and nobody in intensive case.

As of Wednesday, 2,960,989 total vaccine doses have been administered and 1,646,316 prime doses have been given by the state. More than 1,336,300 Oklahomans have completed both inoculations.
