The Oklahoma Senate passed the appropriations bill to fully fund government services in Oklahoma for Fiscal Year 2022.

The budget for Fiscal Year 2022, which begins on July 1, appropriates $8.8 billion.

District 57 Representative Anthony Moore (R-Clinton) described the budget as being impressive considering last year’s budget was extremely reduced because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moore says he’s already thinking about next year’s budget, saying his goal is to find a way to get higher education more funds.

The budget plan was written in House Bill 2900. The bill passed the Senate with a 38-9 vote on Thursday. It now goes to Gov. Kevin Stitt for consideration.
