The Elk City Commission is scheduled to meet in regular session Wednesday afternoon.

It is expected that the Commission will receive the latest sales tax numbers for the city, which could see a boost as indicated last month by City Treasurer Jennifer Rainey due recent activity at the baseball / softball complex – along with pandemic restrictions easing in the area.

The Commission will also consider a resolution that, if passed, would re-apportion sales tax revenue for the next fiscal year – beginning July 1. The action item also calls for the resolution to be declared an emergency, which enables the resolution to go into affect immediately.

Another action item the commission will consider includes the possible purchase of the old Peeler Soccer Park on South Washington in the amount of $50,000.

Tomorrow afternoon’s meeting in city hall is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
