A Weatherford woman died from injuries she sustained in a one vehicle accident in Caddo County.

According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the mishap occurred Friday afternoon, just after 1:30 when while driving a 2002 GMC Yukon southbound on State Highway 58 near Eakly, 23-year-old Jami Deevers became distracted while talking to one of the two passengers.

OHP says this caused the vehicle to depart the road to the right for approximately 316 feet before entering back onto the road. The driver would then over correct the vehicle, causing it to roll two full times before coming to rest in a ditch.

During the wreck, a passenger, 70-year-old Donna Chasenah of Weatherford, was ejected for approximately 80 feet. The other passenger, 24-year-old Isaiah Harjo also of Weatherford, was pinned inside the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes before being freed by the Eakly Fire Department.

Both Deevers and Harjo were treated and released at Weatherford Regional Hospital, however Chasenah was flown to OU Medical Center where she was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg, and trunk internal and external injuries. She would later succumb to her injuries later that night.

OHP says Chasenah was the only occupant in the vehicle not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
