Students Awarded $35,000 in SWOSU-Sayre Scholarships

Eighteen continuing students were recently awarded Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Foundation Scholarships for the upcoming 2021-22 academic year.

Announced in a press release from the university, the scholarships are awarded to continuing students based on grades, community involvement, work ethic and leadership qualities.

Students receiving scholarships include from Elk City, Steven Thompson, Aimee Oster, and Alexis Hust all receiving the Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship worth $2,000 each.

Also from Elk City, Yahir Segoviano and Andrea Garcia received the Paul Flick, Jr. & Dottie Flick Scholarship worth $2,000 each.

From Sayre, Jacie Piercy, Niki Martin, Kaitlyn Hinkle, and Tony Cotts all received the $2,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship, and Elizabeth Mendoza along with Luke Crompton received the $2,000 Paul Flick, Jr. & Dottie Flick Scholarship.

Taylor Bonser of Sayre was awarded the $1,500 Andy & Dora Farmer Memorial Scholarship.

Two students from Canute, Brianna Elliott and Noah Woodson received the $2,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship, as did Leslie Fox from Erick.

Colter Esparza of Granite received the $3,000 Paul Flick, Jr. & Dottie Flick Scholarship. Tenley Allen of Cheyenne was awarded the $2,000 Paul Flick, Jr. & Dottie Flick Scholarship, and Sara Rangel of Sweetwater received the $500 Andy & Dora Farmer Memorial Scholarship.
