The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is seeking public input on an upcoming project in Clinton.

ODOT Division 5 is currently hosting a virtual open house to allow the public to view and comment on renderings for the interchange project at the Interstate 40 on and off ramps at Gary Boulevard and Neptune Drive in Clinton.

Division 5 Engineer Brent Almquist says ODOT took comments from the last public meeting in February 2019 and in a collaborative effort with the City of Clinton, have come up with two proposals for the project.

Almquist says the two bridges over Red Wheat Drive and Neptune Drive will have to be replaced, and two additional bridges will be built, to overpass the proposed extension of Gary Boulevard. That’s a total of six bridges that are either being replaced, or built for the project.

Clinton Mayor David Berrong expressed his pleasure with ODOT with their cooperation with the city on the massive project.

The virtual open house is currently live on the ODOT website now through December 16. Officials say the public may submit comments via the website, email, or by mail.

ODOT says the project is scheduled to go out for bid in 2024, based on funding availability.
