A Texas man is wanted after being charged with first degree manslaughter in Washita County.

An outstanding warrant was issued last week for the arrest of 25-year-old Jaime Eleazar Borunda Jr. of Sunray, Texas. A probable cause affidavit stated that Borunda was the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup heading west on State Highway 152 in east Washita County on June 4, 2019. The report said that the suspect along with his passenger, Jaime Borunda-Menchaca, departed the roadway to the right, over-corrected and entered the eastbound lane. This caused the vehicle to strike an oncoming Dodge Ram 3500 that was pulling a gooseneck trailer.

All three passengers in the Dodge Ram were treated for minor head and trunk internal injuries. The elder Borunda would die at the scene of the crash.

Borunda Jr. was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he consented to a blood test. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation would later determine that the defendant’s blood was positive for, among other things, fentanyl. It was also later determined that Borunda Jr. was driving with a suspended Texas drivers license.

The felony warrant for his arrest was issued on Tuesday.
