The Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Student Government Association met its Food Drive 2020 goal of collecting 1,000 canned food items.
SWOSU-Sayre SGA members invited campus faculty and staff to join students this year in donating food to reach that goal.
“This is an opportunity for the university to support community members who are in need,” said SWOSU-Sayre SGA Sponsor Nancy Sanders.
Having met their goal, SGA members recently delivered the 1,015 cans of food that had been collected on campus during the food drive to the Sayre First Baptist Church food pantry.
“Students, faculty and staff responded in a big way to help feed the hungry heading into this holiday season,” Sanders said.
