Moonlight Madness is tonight (Thursday) in downtown Elk City.

A lot of familiar events return this year, including participating stores open until 8:00 p.m., candy for trick-or-treaters, live music, games, and food provided by various organizations.

However, due to the pandemic, the popular kids costume contest will see some changes.

City spokesperson Julie Brewer says this year the contest will go virtual.

Brewer says the contest begins tonight at 6:00 p.m. and wraps up Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Brewer said the Carnegie Youth Library will be having their Halloween Scavenger Hunt tonight as well. She said kids can pick up cards in front of the library and return them tomorrow (Friday) to claim prizes.
