A Clinton man who allegedly cut his own face and claimed he was the victim of abuse caused by his wife, has been arrested after he allegedly abused his wife first.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 35-year-old Beau Rayburn Drinnon was arrested October 6 after he flagged down police outside his home. He had claimed that he and his wife had gotten into an altercation where his wife had slapped him and had scratched him multiple times on his face.

However when police spoke with the wife, she claims that the two had gotten into an argument after Drinnon attempted to put items into his car and she took them out. She told police that Drinnon became upset and pushed her to the ground. Drinnon would that allegedly use a key to scratch his face in an apparent attempt to frame the victim.

The court document would reveal that police would speak with the daughter of the couple, who would tell authorities that she watched Drinnon push the woman to the ground, and confirmed to the police that Drinnon did indeed scratch himself with a key.

Drinnon was transported to the Clinton City Jail. He would later receive a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

His first court appearance is scheduled for December 8.
