Clinton Public Schools announced this week that students will return to the high school campus to attend classes starting Tuesday, September 29 after participating in an “A/B” schedule due to COVID-19.

The “A/B” format consists of half the school population switching to a virtual learning format from home, while the other half attends classes on campus, on an alternating schedule.

Superintendent Tyler Bridges says although kids will be back on campus full time, adjustments will be made.

Bridges also said masks will still be required on campus.

Meanwhile, Elk City High School students will continue with the “A/B” schedule next week, September 29 through October 2.

According to school officials, all students with last names beginning with A-K are assigned to group A and will attend classes Tuesday and Thursday, while students with last names beginning with L-Z will attend classes on Wednesday and Friday. There will not be classes held Friday (September 25) and Monday (September 28).

Elk City School officials also announced that the Red Cord Anti-Human Trafficking Event that was scheduled for Monday, September 28 has been canceled, however officials say the event will be rescheduled at a later date.
