Elk City Commission / School Board Meet Tonight

The Elk City School Board and City Commission plan to meet tonight (Tuesday) in regular session.

Highlights on the agenda for the Elk City School Board include receiving the findings of the annual school audit for fiscal year ending June 30 from Britton, Kuykendall and Miller CPA’s. The board will also consider and take action to approve or not approve the use of the State of Oklahoma Roof Asset Management Program and to hire Ford Roofing and Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services to complete roofing projects in the district. If approved, buildings that would see repairs include the Bus Barn, Maintenance Shop, Elementary School, Middle School Cafeteria, Middle School Gym, Middle School Practice Gym, Susan Powell Fine Arts Center and High School.

Tonight’s school board meeting at the board office is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Also tonight the Elk City Commission will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. inside city hall.

Items the commission will consider include approving or disapproving a resolution concerning funding pursuant to the Cares Act and the Coronavirus Relief Fund, confirming that it is the policy of the City that all public health and public safety personnel costs are “Substantially Dedicated” to the Covid-19 Response efforts of the town throughout the ongoing state of emergency.

Other Cares Act expenditures the commission will consider include considering a bid received for a new Wheeled Coach ambulance from Chief Fire & Safety Company, and considering the purchase of an Impact / Portable Ventilator.

The commission will also consider approving or disapproving a bid for a 12” sanitary sewer main creek crossing replacement near Pioneer Road and 20th Street from Hutton Inc.
