The meet and greet event that was to be hosted by the Elk City Police Department and the Elk City Fire Department Thursday night in Elk City’s Ackley Park has been canceled.
Elk City Police Chief Eddie Holland says it was a tough decision but decided it was the best decision for not only the public’s safety, but the city employee’s safety.
Holland says it is possible that the event will be rescheduled for a later date.
