A Burns Flat woman was arrested and charged recently with domestic assault and battery by strangulation, a felony, after she allegedly got into a physical altercation with her son.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 38-year-old Elizabeth Rene Allen met with a Burns Flat police officer last month and claimed that her son had beaten her up. The officer noted that Allen had injuries to her face and torn clothing. Allen told officers that her son had been beating her for awhile.

The document stated that another officer went to the home to bring the boy into the police department. When he arrived the officer claimed that the son had injuries to the right side of his face, his nose, and his head and neck area where it appeared that he had been grabbed by the neck and throat area. The officer also noted that he had clear marks of impact and strikes of some type to his right eye area and nose, and wounds behind his right ear.

The affidavit stated that Burns Flat EMS were notified to asses the child and his injuries. The boy would later be transported to Alliance Health Hospital in Clinton for further evaluation.

The court document stated that Allen was arrested due to the nature of the situation and the fact that her son’s wounds were extensive and excessive beyond that of normal discipline.

Allen was booked into the Washita County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Her next court date is scheduled for July 20.
