The Elk City Commission has scheduled to hold a special meeting Thursday.

According to a posted agenda, the commission will convene into an executive session to discuss the appointment of an acting city manager, as well as to discuss the process of employing a new city manager.

Former city manager Lee Litterell was terminated last Thursday during a special meeting.

Another agenda item the commission intends to act on include maintaining, amending or canceling employee furloughs. The commission will also discuss the CAPPS indoor activity facility project.

Thursday’s meeting at Elk City, City Hall is scheduled to take place at 4:00 p.m.

The Clinton City Council has called for a special meeting to take place on Wednesday, after the Custer County Election Board informed the City that the filing period dates for municipal seats must be changed to earlier dates.

According to the agenda, the resolution will establish June 15, 16, and 17 as the filing period rather than June 22, 23, and the 24 that was approved at the previous meeting.

Clinton’s special city council meeting on Wednesday is scheduled to take place at City Hall at 10:30 a.m.
