A Cordell man was uninjured in an accident in Caddo County that sent a Fort Cobb man to an Oklahoma City hospital in serious condition.

The injured man is 81-year-old Julian M. Gorman who was driving a 1984 Nissan Datsun east on County Road 1310. He’s recuperating at St. Anthony’s hospital and is being treated for head injuries.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Gorman failed to yield during a left hand turn and was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 25-year-old Brek Ray Phy of Cordell. Phy was heading west on the same county road, about three miles east of Fort Cobb at the intersection of County Road 2585.

The condition of both drivers at the time of the accident was apparently normal.

The accident occurred around 10:20 Thursday morning.
