A Yukon man is in jail after allegedly beating his mother while he was intoxicated.
45-year-old Beau Shane Jones is in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $20-thousand-dollar bond after a recent incident at his mother’s home.
According to a police report, Elk City officers were called to Love’s convenience story on West 3rd Street just before 3 am on September 6 regarding a woman that had blood all over her clothes.  When police arrived, the woman was seen wiping blood from her nose with a white wash cloth.  She told the officer that her son had beat her up.
The victim explained that Jones had been to an area bar and came to her residence severely intoxicated.  When he asked her where his pills were, she told him he’d taken them with him.  At that point, he became extremely upset and began yelling.  He then allegedly accused her of taking his pills and threatened to kill her.
The victim told police he allegedly grabbed her, punched her in the stomach and face and then grabbed her by the throat.  The victim was able to run to the bathroom and eventually out of the apartment for help.
Officers forced entry into the victim’s apartment in the 1600 block of West 8th and found Jones – who has a Yukon address – face down on a bed in a back bedroom of the apartment.  He ignored officer’s orders to place his hands behind his back and was tased for his compliance.
Jones was arrested and taken to jail.  While en route, he told the officer that his mother had taken his medication and that he didn’t assault her, but had hit her with the door when she wouldn’t shut up.
He’s been charged with domestic abuse – assault and battery as well as threatening to perform an act of violence.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 27 in District Court.
