Melissa Hembree. What does one say to adequately sum up Melissa Hembree & Whiskey Union? Melissa and crew were a little early, so I had them come sit in the studio with me for the last fifteen minutes of the three o' clock hour before starting the LMO showcase on the Back Roads. I was shocked. After listening through Pieces of Me, Melissa's EP, I expected a loud, crazy, rowdy group. They were quiet. Reserved even. After breaking the ice, and watching them perform along with Hank Jr. during "Family Tradition", I found myself in the midst of a very talented, fun loving group. Melissa and her good humored group of guys carved out a special place in my heart that afternoon, and in case you missed it here is a piece of what transpired.
