The Elk City Commission is scheduled to meet Monday night in regular session.
Agenda items the commission will consider include a resolution declaring the over prescription of opioids that has lead to opioid abuse, addiction, morbidity and mortality, a public nuisance in the city. This resolution stems from the special meeting the commission had, where they approved to enter into a contract with McAfee and Taft law firm out of Oklahoma City to represent the city in lawsuits against Purdue Pharmaceuticals.
The commission will also consider a bid from L.D. Kemp Excavating for work on the landfill expansion project, and also consider various equipment purchases.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in city hall.
