A Clinton man who pleaded guilty to shooting his ex-wife was sentenced today after a bench trial inside the Custer County Courthouse.
40-year-old Brandon Benevento was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole for shooting his ex-wife to death in April 2019.
The crime took place on April 20, 2019 when Benevento approached Heather Park at an Arapaho convenience store and shot into her vehicle multiple times, striking the woman. Park would later die from her injuries in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Witnesses say a child could be seen in Benevento’s vehicle at the time of the shooting. It was later determined that two children were present at the time of the murder.
