A Lubbock, Texas man was hospitalized Thursday night after hitting a cow in Beckham County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred three miles south of Carter on State Highway 34 when 68-year-old Lelan Pack hit a loose cow in the roadway. The collision caused the vehicle to depart the road to the right, then drive through a barbed wired fence before coming to a stop.
The report stated that Pack was transported to the Elk City Airport where he was air lifted to OU Medical Center. Pack was admitted with head and trunk internal injuries, last listed to be in stable condition.
