A Cheyenne man was critically injured on Saturday after hitting a deer with his motorcycle.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Michael Beals was northbound on U.S. Highway 283 five miles north of Cheyenne when he struck the deer with his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle.

Beals was transported to Roger Mills Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne and later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with trunk external, trunk internal and head injuries.

OHP says Beals was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Also on Saturday two juveniles from Granite were involved in a mishap involving a Kawasaki Mule.

According to the OHP, two 12-year-old boys were driving the mule in a field in Greer County when the driver turned to sharp and turned the vehicle over on it’s side. The report stated that the driver was ejected and pinned under the vehicle for a short time before being freed.

The boy was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, and later transported to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with a leg injury.

The passenger was uninjured.
