Active cases of COVID-19 have dropped in the state, however 6 more deaths are being reported.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s daily report, Oklahoma has 1,060 of active cases of the virus statewide, a decrease of 42 cases when compared to Monday.

The 6 additional deaths brings the state’s total to just under 300 at 294.

Current hospitalizations are down in the state as well. Currently there are 167 Oklahomans hospitalized due to the virus. That is down 13 when compared to Monday.

No change locally with active cases or recoveries. Greer County remains with 3 active cases, Jackson County has 2, Kiowa County has 2, and Washita County still has 1 case.

Harmon and Roger Mills Counties are still without a reported case of COVID-19.

There was, however, a recovery in Wheeler County, Texas. That county now has 7 active cases. Neighboring Collingsworth County has 4 active cases while Hemphill County is still reporting 1 active case.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.
