A Sentinel man wanting to be arrested got his wish last month after spitting on a police officer.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 32-year-old Christopher Juarez went to the officers home and began cussing at the officer, and stated that he needed to be taken to jail because he had warrants out for his arrest, and that he was hearing voices.

The officer discovered that Juarez did indeed have warrants for his arrest out of Kiowa and Beckham counties, however both would not extradite him at that time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The court document stated that Juarez became upset, started yelling at the officer and allegedly spat on him. Juarez was then placed in handcuffs, where he would later spit on the officer again. Juarez was then considered to be under arrest and taken to jail.

He was charged with placing bodily fluid on a government employee – a felony. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 15.
