Coronavirus: More Testing Sites Popping Up

More mobile COVID-19 testing sites are scheduled throughout the area including one taking place in Beckham County on Friday, April 3.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health the Beckham County Health Department, and Elk City officials, will be conducting the drive-through testing clinic Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elk City Convention Center located at 1016 East Airport Industrial Road. Officials say individuals will be able to drive-through the south building, and will not be allowed to exit their vehicles. Local law enforcement will be on site to direct traffic.

In Jackson County, a similar mobile testing site will take place Friday at 401 West Tamarack in Altus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also a mobile testing site will take place in Woodward County on Friday at the Woodward County Event Center located at 105A Temple Houston Drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are guidelines one must meet before being tested. A person must be an Oklahoma resident, have a fever greater than 100.4, a cough or shortness of breath.

Only one person per household will be tested.

The State Department of Health reminds the public that if anyone has symptoms of COVID-19 and needs emergency assistance, to call ahead to your local emergency room so they can meet you outside of the facility to begin the screening process. If symptoms are minor, and they are not in distress, to avoid using an emergency room for being screened and tested for COVID-19.
