An Altus teenager is in an Oklahoma City hospital after a two vehicle accident Thursday in Jackson County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the 17-year-old male was driving a pickup westbound on a county road when a 2017 John Deere road grader driven by 36-year-old Brandon Graumann backed into an intersection of the county roads that’s when the pickup driven by the minor struck the grader.

The young man was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus and later transferred and admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with an injury to the lower extremity. He was last listed to be in stable condition.

OHP reports that the teen was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
