Clinton Family Hospitalized After Wreck

Four Clinton residents were hospitalized, including a 16-month-old infant, after the vehicle they were riding in was involved in a one vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near Clinton.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the 2005 Chevy pick up driven by 24-year-old Marysol Navarrete was westbound in the left lane when for an unknown reason the vehicle lost control and departed the roadway to the right, rolling one time, ejecting all three passengers.

The passengers, 29-year-old Carlos Navarrete, a 6-year-old female, a 16-month-old infant, and the driver were all transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. At press time the driver was listed to be in stable condition while Carlos Navarrete was listed in critical but stable conditon. The 6-year-old minor was listed to be in serious condition, while the infant was listed to be in critical condition.

The OHP report stated that seat belts were not in use during the crash, and listed the cause of the collision as driving too fast for conditions.
