Jackson County Accident Fatally Injuries Woman

A one vehicle accident Sunday afternoon claims the life of a Snyder woman.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred 8 and a half miles east of Altus in Jackson County on U.S. Highway 62 when the 2013 Chevy 2500 pickup driven by 55-year-old Kathy James departed the right side of the road striking a guardrail. The report stated that James was pinned in the vehicle before being extricated by the Altus and Fredrick Fire Departments. James was died at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
