An author will be signing books for a good cause tomorrow in Elk City.

Local Author Matthew Randolph, a graduate of Sayre High School and now an Elk City resident, will be hosting a book signing Friday, January 17th from 10am to 2pm at Major Bean Coffee and Sandwich Company at 201 West Broadway in Elk City.

Randolph is the author of the book series titled “A Killer’s Heart: The Story of Ed Lee Curtis”, and his books will be available to purchase at the event.

Randolph announced that he will donate 100% of the proceeds raised during tomorrow’s event to CASA of Western Oklahoma, a non-profit organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in juvenile court.

According to his biography, Randolph wrote the first book of the series in 2009, by writing the first draft in under two weeks. He put the book away and would go back to it every year or two, eventually doing a full rewrite. Ten years later after a fourth rewrite he had it published. A sequel to the book soon followed.

Friday’s book signing is open to the public.
