Two Vehicle Accident Fatality Injures Two Texans

Two from the Dallas-Metroplex died in a two vehicle accident in Donley County, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety the accident occurred Monday night near Hedley, Texas on U.S. Highway 287 when the 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by 30-year-old Martha Ayala-Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas was eastbound when for an unknown reason veered off to the south of the road, over-corrected the steering to the left, and lost control. The vehicle then traveled into westbound traffic facing north and was struck on its passenger side by a 2015 Volvo Truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. Ayala-Garcia and a passenger, 30-year-old Samantha Petters of Arlington, Texas were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. A second passenger, 34-year-old Shu Wou of Arlington, Texas was air lifted to an Amarillo hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

According to the Texas DPS, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
