The Elk City Commission met in regular session Monday night, and although a short meeting, City Manager Lee Litterell says a lot was accomplished.
Among other things, Litterell says the commission approved the annual ambulance service agreement between the Beckham County Emergency Medical Services District and the Elk City Fire Department / EMS. This agreement, Litterell says allows the Elk City Fire Department to provide service to county residents.
Litterell says the commission also approved a quote from JZ Southern Boyz for the installation of two 6 inch water valves on a water line located on the west side of North Randall. He says a leak was first detected several weeks ago.
Litterell says the leak has no affect on any structure, business or residential, in the area.
Also during the meeting the commission approved the third payment to Hellas Construction to go towards the turf installation at the Ackley Park baseball field and the baseball / softball complexes. Litterell says the project itself is roughly 90% complete.
Litterell also noted that the planned activity center that will be constructed in Ackley Park West is still in the early planning stages, but still on schedule.
