Memorial services for a former Sayre Junior College President have been announced.
According to Southwestern Oklahoma State University of Sayre’s Facebook page a celebration of life service for Paul Conner will be held this Friday at 10 a.m. at the Ross-Ellis Center in Haviland, Kansas. A second celebration of life service will take place Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the Sayre Schools Auditorium in Sayre with Joe Coles presiding.
Conner, a member of the SWOSU Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, was the sixth and final president of Sayre Junior College before the college merged with SWOSU in 1987. In fact Conner was very instrumental in the merger of the two schools at that time. Conner worked in education for 49 years.
