After the recent release of Oklahoma School Report Cards by the State School Board that evaluates school performance, Elk City Superintendent Rick Garrison had a chance to react to the grades handed out to each school site in the district. He says he was disappointed in the grades handed out, which saw the high school and middle schools receive an overall grade of a D, and the Intermediate school receive a C.

Garrison says this is the second year this particular report card has been released, and says despite what appears to be low grades, there are signs of improvements for a couple of district sites.

It’s not all bad news for the district. Garrison reported that enrollment for the district overall appears to be up as the fall semester comes to a close.

Garrison says the largest classes in the district are currently kindergarten and first grade. He says both are have around 200 per grade.
