Death of a Washita County Man

A Washita County man has been found dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

According to a news release from the Washita County Sheriff’s office, 56-year-old Steven D. Arganbright died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and found in a home south of Lake Vanderwork in Gotebo.

The release says that the sheriff’s office was notified about 11:34 AM on Wednesday of a call of distress regarding Arganbright.

Sheriff Roger Reeve, Undersheriff Kenny Loftiss, and Reserve Deputy Erick Payne responded to the call and found Arganbright’s dead.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was notified and an investigator responded to the scene.

A note written by Mr. Arganbright was found near him and there were no other people present at the residence.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home.
