Registered voters in the City of Sayre and eligible voters for the Republican and Libertarian Primaries who want to vote by absentee ballot in the June 28 Election have two options according to County Election Officials.

Deidre O’Briant, Beckham County’s Election Board Secretary, explains that voters have until 5:00 pm tomorrow (Wednesday, June 22) to apply for an absentee ballot to be mailed to them. The other option is to cast an absentee ballot at the Election Board office on Thursday, June 23, Friday, June 24 or Saturday, June 25.

O’Briant said the option of voting early in the Election Board office is becoming more popular with voters and she explained that the process is not much different than voting at a person’s own polling location.

Roger Mills County Election Board Secretary, Jana Maddux says absentee voters may apply in person in the county where the voter resides at their County Election Board office or may send their applications by mail, fax, or e-mail.  An online version of the form may be filled out and submitted electronically at www.elections.ok.gov.

Any registered voter eligible to vote in the election may vote by absentee ballot without stating a reason.

If you have questions about absentee voting in this election or any upcoming election, contact any County Election Board office or visit: www.elections.ok.gov.
