Shamrock Irish Craftfest

Two to three-thousand people will make their way to the annual Irish Craftfest in Shamrock this weekend.
The 21 years it’s been held is testimony to the fun people have attending it – as well as the venders who sell product during the festival.
Shamrock Chamber Secretary Connie Wilson says that year in and year out, people look forward to it.  They just love it because it’s a fun event!
Wilson says the proceeds are used to help support a number of area needs including student activities, community events and other non-profit organizations.
She says all of the 64 booth spaces have been sold so it’ll be a packed festival and many of the visitors are repeat visitors each year.
Wilson says the booth “sale” items include canned jellies, beef jerky, saddles, cutlery, wooden artistry and holiday decorations.
She says it’s a great way to get a jump start on ideas for Christmas.
The 21st Annual Irish Craftfest will be held in the Shamrock Area Community Center located on South US Highway 83 and admission is free for the Saturday and Sunday event.
